More delays from Crest
I picked up a very aggravated answer phone message from Kerry at Crest Nicholson today, around about 11.15am, telling me that it was urgent that I spoke with her.
This was followed up by an e-mail sent at 11.59.
… Please can you confirm that you visited Plot 2 at the weekend and that you are ready to proceed with an exchange.
Unfortunately we are unable to delay the exchange any longer…
So I responded at 12.30 or so with:
Please can you confirm that you visited Plot 2 at the weekend
No. As I said in my message on 5/7,
I’ve now heard from Stephen Driscoll, who tells me that, subject to the weather, all the outstanding items (including the kitchen unit and the dormer wall/ceiling) will be dealt with by the end of this week. He’s promised to give me an update on Friday.
I didn’t receive an update from Stephen by the end of Friday, and he’d made clear that without hearing from him first that I should assume that the work hadn’t been completed.
If you can confirm that the work has been completed and that Stephen has just not bothered to tell me then let me know and I’ll book the time to go down and inspect.
The “Friday” in that exchange was last Friday, the 8th.
For such an urgent issue it took Crest Nicholson until 16.43 this evening to reply.
I have today received confirmation that everything internally has been dealt with. With the exception of 2 window handles and a draft seal. These items have been ordered and will be addressed ASAP.
Externally, a team from our Customer Services Dept. will be going to site this week to address the remainder of the outstanding items. We will undertake to complete every item that was discussed between yourself, Darren Wright & Steven Driscoll.
So, Crest Nicholson have missed their own self-imposed deadline by at least another week and there’s still work to be done. I won’t be able to go along and inspect until at least this coming Saturday. With a bit of luck, and a following wind, they’ll have everything completed by then. Then I can sign the paperwork (which has been with me for a few weeks now) and things can start moving again.
Here’s hoping…
