Should be moving on Monday…

… and Crest Nicholson have stopped talking to me or my solicitors. So I sent them the following e-mail.

From: Nik Clayton

My solicitors have repeatedly asked your solicitors for information about the procedure on Monday for exchanging keys — where to do the exchange, what time we will exchange, and so on.

So far, there’s been no reply from them. Please could you chase up and let me know as soon as possible.

Second, when I left the property on July 29th the following items were still outstanding (list agreed to and signed by Steve Driscoll).

  • Overpaint on lights in downstairs WC to be cleaned off
  • Balusters and handrail undersides of bannisters to be touched up and cleaned of overpainting
  • Draught strip to be fitted to lounge garden doors
  • Seals to be fitted to both windows in the master bedroom
  • Right hand screw on dishwasher handle is still loose and must be tightened
  • 3rd window from right in “conservatory” has wedge in the bottom of the frame which must be removed and made good
  • Standing water in the conservatory guttering. Clean out and adjust falls
  • Decoration around sockets in the study is poor - bare plaster is
visible. Remove sockets, repaint, re-fix sockets
  • Bedroom 4 fire door to be made to self-close
  • Matching non-lockable window handles to be fitted to window in bedroom 4 to match those in bedroom 5

I’ve had no further information from Crest as to which of these items
(if any) have now been completed. Please could you chase up with Steve and ask him to contact me and let me know what state I should expect the house to be in when I move on Monday.

Hopefully I’ll hear something back today so I’ll know what’s happening on Monday.
