Growing Family

I’ll start with a bit of history. We currently live in East Hunsbury in Northampton. In May we became the proud parents of twins, as such we very quickly came to the conclusion that we had run out of space in our current house and also realised that we are not in a fantastic catchment area for schools. We decided to try and market our house but it very quickly became apparent that the whole house hunting and selling process was a major pain when you have two new ickle people to take care of. So the story begins…

We receive a fair part-ex offer from David Wilson Homes for our existing property. We managed to agree some suitable incentives that actually make the part ex process slightly more attractive than selling our house on the open market. We have gone for a Cornell style 4 bed detached property in the ‘Fields End’ site in Wootton, Northampton. The site is in my opinion two thirds complete and the general build quality looks very good to the naked eye. Both my wife and myself are over the moon and we set off on the following day to pay our reservation fee and choose our interior fittings. The house we have gone for was at the topping out stage at this point therefore we still had time to specify the kitchen style and tiles etc. When paying the reservation we agree to the normal 4 weeks to exchange contracts. Therefore making the 9th of October the next big milestone. The sales staff were very good and went through the various very expensive options that were available. Apart from tiling the ground floor W/C we politely declined most of the over priced ‘upgrades’. Whilst paying our reservation fee we also decided to instruct Hardmans as our solicitors. Thus far they have been superb and quite frankly after moving house 6 times they are the quickest solicitors that we have dealt with – If you are looking for a solicitors in Northants I would definitely recommend them.
