We seem to be getting a little closer, but it’s just so frustrating (see it’s that f word again!) that we can’t quite get there.

Apparently, the solicitors are waiting for a final piece of paperwork from Redrow and until that arrives, we cannot exchange contracts.

We spent today packing up some stuff in preparation, even found some boxes we’ve not unpacked in the 2yrs we’ve been in our current house.

Our solicitor did say that it is likely we will exchange next week, so keep your fingers crossed for us.

I guess anybody that has been through the house buying/selling scenario has experienced the frustration that goes with trying to exchange contracts…..

We are so very nearly ready to exhange, but there is always something that seems to crop up.

Apparently we are waiting on a cover note or something from the Redrow solicitors and without it we cannot exchange.

I seem to be the only person in the middle ringing everybody to try and chase things along, whilst they all send letters that seem to take an age to arrive and then be dealt with.

Oh well, here’s hoping that we can exchange this week still. TIme is slightly on our side as it’s not quite halfway through the week.

I hope to report back soon with news of Exchange.

Our current “state of play” is that we are waiting to exhange contracts on both our sale and our purchase.

We’ve been chasing this along for the last week or so now.

We need to rent a house between moving out of our current house and moving into our “new” house! So hence we are keen to start the rental asap as we don’t want to be tied in too long past the completion date of our new house etc.

Hopefully, I’ll be posting back later this week with news of exchange.

Why is it that Estate Agents seem to chase things along until they have “sold” your house?
They then seem to go into a “go slow” whereby I’m forevering chasing them to chase the buyers solicitors etc.

Here’s the first entry on our new home blog.

We are purchasing our first “new” home, currently due for completion in March 07.

Having lived, for the past 2 yrs, in a 5yr old house, the benefits of a new (or at least newer) style house were clear for us to see. So when the opportunity/need to move arose, we decided to look for a “new” house.

The development is the “Kennet Heath” developement in Thatcham, Berkshire. It’s a shared site with Redrow, KingsOak and Barratt Homes all having a number of phases constructed.

I’ll endeavour to keep the blog updated so you can all see how our purchase of a new home progresses.
